As landscape photographers we do have a tendency to shoot that what is perceived to be the norm of "beauty" ... lovely blue mountains, green grass, sparkling water streams and colorful flowers.
I am from a harsh continent ... Africa was shaped by fire and natural cataclysms. The devastation from a wildfire strikes deep into our hearts but the truth is that there are lots of plants that will not grow if they have not been burned.
The fantastic world of texture is best exposed in the aftermath of a fire.
The following shots is my view of a field after fire and there is a certain beauty hidden in the colours and textures that one only learns to love if you are willing to look deeper.
